Self-assured, independent, creative and fabulously chic – that’s what it means to be a Curve girl, and that’s exactly who we saw at the store’s recent one-year anniversary party, which brought together some of the store’s strongest fans and clients.
Victoria Miller – Nico Colon, Jessica Silverman, Nevena Borissova, Jay Jeffers
We spotted gallerist Jessica Silverman checking out some of their best pieces, fashion designer Olya Dzilikhova looking thrilled by some of the more experimental designs by Viktor & Rolf, and chatted with artist Victoria Miller, who had just purchased something by her favorite designer Isabel Marant (carried in San Francisco only by Curve.)

What is it that draws so many sharp young women to Curve? The 2360 Fillmore Street location in Pacific Heights is wonderfully convenient for those who live in the Pacific Heights area. The collection of clothing is perfectly edited for San Francisco, neither too safe nor too crazy. But that could all be said of several of our chic little boutiques. Curve is unique because of its owner: Nevena Borissova.
One can see that nothing is carried at Curve that Nevena wouldn’t herself wear. The style is edgy, sexy, modern, full of energy, like her. She appears to have a take-no-prisoners approach to life, and yet she’s so friendly and approachable. Look, this is the woman who put Ramona Singer, queen of the purple satin cocktail dress, into stretchy grey downtown jersey… and lived!
Margaret Ryan, Christopher Cohen – Barbara Brown, Cara Connor
Cara Connor, Connie Cormier – Kimberly Bakker, Fred Rubenstein
Wearing designers such as Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, and Pierre Balmain, women at the party — like Mina Yadzi, Angie Silvy, Sonya Molodetskaya, Stephanie Mitchell, Joey Cannata, Stella Nik — have clearly been enjoying their visits to Curve over the last year. And as Nevena said on her blog, “One year down, many more to go!” We’re looking forward to it!
