Please mark your calendars for the San Francisco Zoo’s annual ZooFest for Kids fundraising event taking place on Friday, June 5, 2009.
The event celebrates the Zoo’s long-standing commitment to children of all ages — to connect with wildlife, inspire caring for nature and advance conservation action.
This year’s event is already receiving a lot of attention. When Chairs Cecilia Fisher, Mireille Schwartz and Charley Zeches recently launched the fundraising effort with a pre-event cocktail party hosted by Juicy Couture Union Square (see our coverage here), not only did a lot of tickets get sold, but as one person commented, “A fun, after-hours visit to the Zoo sounds like the perfect Summertime activity. We’re lucky in San Francisco to have such an amazing place to reconnect with nature and see all those lovely creatures.” She told us she planned to bring six people with her!
Festivities will kick-off at the Children’s Zoo and Animal Resource Center with a special Benefactor Pre-Party and will then move into an evening of fun and entertainment with some of the Zoo’s beloved animals. Attendees will see exclusive wildlife presentations, behind-the-scenes animal feedings, an after-hours walk through of the Zoo and enjoy food, drinks, activities and more.
