Lauren Remington Platt in Valentino
You’re a busy tech executive about to be interviewed on live TV. A Pacific Heights mom with just an hour to get ready for a major gala. Or it’s date night and you want to knock someone’s socks off. Getting in the car, fighting through traffic, sitting in a hair stylist’s waiting room before being seen, then rushing to your destination is hardly helpful.
But thanks to a new company called Vênsette, getting professional hair and makeup, on demand, and at any location of your choosing, is now as easy and reliable as requesting an Uber.
Founded by Lauren Remington Platt almost three years ago, the service was first launched in New York, followed by the Hamptons and Los Angeles, and is now in San Francisco!
“There are a lot of events here. It’s a thriving community,” Platt told me during her recent visit to San Francisco to launch the service.
“Our clients really want the convenience of somebody coming to them, and not having to leave the house. Being able to spend time with family and not do the drive, and the traffic,” she said, “whether it’s for a weekly manicure, a blow-out or professional makeup.”
To celebrate the launch, she was joined by friend Claiborne Swanson Frank, who just published her beautiful new book “Young Hollywood,” with Assouline, in hosting 20 intimates for a lively dinner at Tosca, such as Alexis Traina, Elizabeth Swanson, Anne Waterman, Victoire Reynal, Allison Speer, Alicia Engstrom, Lauren Goodman, Dr. Carolyn Chang, Henrique de Castro, Rachel Lewis, Brook Reade, Erin Lowenberg, Jenny McCullum, Diane Chapman, Emily Holt, Catherine Bigelow, Bob Swigert, Jake Wachman, Marissa Kim and others.
