I had just walked in the door. My concierge, Tom greets me, “Good afternoon Aubrey. You received several packages today. I brought them up and placed them in the foyer.” I wonder to myself — what ever could they be? (Late night online shopping is a sport that I covet a gold medal in).
I set my sunglasses and wallet on the bar, and plug in my iPhone 6 Plus, and situated myself with a box cutter, and my booty of parcels and go at them with abandon, like a child on Christmas morning! Amongst the correspondence was an invitation to a lovely soiree at Valentino. If you and I are even remotely acquainted, then should you know that I adore wearing Valentino, and occasionally shop at the Grant street location in San Francisco [wink].
As you may guess, I was delighted to have received a personal invitation in the post from the Valentino’s General Manager, Kirsten Skipper, to celebrate Valentino’s Vice President of PR and Worldwide Brand Ambassador, Carlos Souza’s new book, #Carlos’s Places (the hyphenated S is intentional). As you may have guessed by now, I emailed my respondez, and called my then Valentino sales associate, Moustofa and selected my frock for the event.
This fashionisto arrived to the soiree cap-à-pie Valentino.
