IWC Schaffhausen, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, has revealed that something exciting will be coming their guests' way at the CarFest South 2013: the legendary 1954/55 Mercedes Silver Arrow race car!
The Mercedes Silver Arrow is known to be an icon in the world of motor sports and is hardly ever seen, although its design still strongly influences other designs altogether. IWC's Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil, for example, is actually dedicated to the Mercedes Silver Arrow. Since IWC is close to Mercedes, they officially became the Engineering Partner of their AMG PETRONAS Formula OneTM Team, as well.
The carfest will be showing the Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil along with the Mercedes Silver Arrow and other classic and new cars from all over the world. All of these cars will take part in the well-known Hill Climb and various other races that will help the carfest raise money for BBC Children in Need.
IWC supports the carfest because of how it reflects a lot of the company's core values. After all, IWC Schaffhausen has supported a lot of worthwhile causes in the past; BBC Children in Need is just one of the ones on the roster. Since IWC is also emphasizing on motor sports this 2013, it makes perfect sense that they are supporting the carfest this year.
The carfest will take place from August 23 to 25, 2013 at Hampshire's Laverstoke Park Farm.
