The February 1st opening of the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay was recently celebrated with a spectacular black tie event with more than 950 guests. The Champions Gala featured appearances by Tim McGraw, Kevin Spacey, the Oakland East Bay Symphony conducted by Michael Morgan, Vocal Rush, Alizma Violon Trio, and Tyia Wilson.

During the event, angel investor and philanthropist Ron Conway announced a $40 million donation from himself, wife Gayle and sons Ronny, Topher and Danny, to help fund the new outpatient medical building at the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay.
