The Getty family recently celebrated Gordon P. Getty’s 85th birthday with a joyful party at their Pacific Heights home.
Starting September 27, 2014, San Francisco’s Alcatraz will be the site for one of this year’s most important art exhibits internationally.
The “@Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz” exhibit, produced by the FOR-SITE Foundation, provides Chinese artist Ai Weiwei’s sculpture, sound, and mixed-media installations in four locations in the former prison — areas which are usually restricted to the public.
Larkin Street Youth Servicesâ€™ eleventh annual fund-raising gala benefit, Paving the Way, hosted over nearly 400 community leaders and philanthropists at the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco on March 8, 2013. Hosted by special guests, Mark Buell, Chair of the Americaâ€™s Cup Organizing Committee and Jimmy Spithill, Skipper and Helmsman for ORACLE Team USA, the benefit event raised over $725,000 in support of Larkin Streetâ€™s programs for homeless, runaway and at-risk youth in San Francisco. Over eighty percent of all funds raised by Larkin Street go directly to supporting the organizationâ€™s programs.
Chelsea Clinton was the featured speaker, with Silicon Valley business leaders Sheryl Sandberg and Dave Goldberg in attendance, at theFull Circle Fund’s 2nd annual igNITE gala on November 16th, 2012, celebrating the new model of philanthropy in the Bay Area.
