The Battery, the members-only social club you’ve heard so much about lately, that was founded by Michael and Xochi Birch, is scheduled to open this fall, with 100 founding members already on board.
Jeffrey Alan Marks, Kyle MacLachlan, Restoration Hardware’s Gary Friedman, Willie Brown, Jr., Facebook’s Libby Leffler, Banana Republic’s Jack Calhoun, Asim Abdullah, Keith Bellings, Lisa Alexander, Karen Caldwell, and others attended the recent opening of The Cavalier in San Francisco.
Paula Carano and Troy Griepp were named to the top of Nob Hill Gazette’s “Best Dressed List 2013.” The annual reader’s poll, now in its 10th year, has named Angelique Griepp (Mrs. Troy Griepp won in 2011), Vanessa Getty, Marissa Mayer, Lisa Grotts, Denise Hale, Pamela Joyner, Tatiana Sorokko, Clara Shayevich, Trevor Traina, Danielle Steel, Dede Wilsey, Patrick Barber, Zach Bogue, Alex Mehran and other familiar faces to its Best Dressed Hall of Fame list.
This year’s Runners Up were Charlot Malin, Deepa Pakianathan, Ken Fulk and Jeffrey Hayes.

Michael S. Smith was recently honored at Hedge Gallery in San Francisco at a party hosted by Alison Pincus, Vanessa Getty and Allison Speer. His design work for a Palladian Villa in Malibu is being put up for auction at Christie’s in New York. The Mid Winter Gala for 2013 honored the exhibit, “Girl with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Paintings from the Mauritshuis” with a chic winter wonderland that raised over $400k. Marissa Mayer, Jonathan Ive, Alison Pincus, Vanessa Getty, Dick Costolo, Stephan Jenkins, Connie Nielsen, Lori Levine, Evgenia Peretz, Jeremy Stoppelman, Trevor Traina, Allison Speer and Kathryn Lasater were among the 380 who attended.
The Italian artist, Paolo Troilo, recently debuted his first U.S. exhibit at Coup d’Etat, the most exceptional designer space in San Francisco.
Sponsored by Testa Vineyards, the event brought together San Francisco tastemakers such as Jack Calhoun, Stephen Brady, Gary Friedman, Joy Bianchi, Anna Weinberg, Ken Fulk, and Jamie Finegold, among others.
