"Phenomenal" was theme for the 2014 San Francisco Ballet’s Opening Night Gala, but also describes the looks put together by gala guests. With gala chair Tanya Powell starting the evening in an elegant Vera Wang ball gown and ending in a short runway-worthy Dolce & Gabbana, there was a full gamut of looks. One saw understated elegance with Yurie Pascarella in Andrew Gn and Mary Beth Shimmon in Chanel; a full flowering of colors, shapes and textures from Deepa Pakianathan, Paula Carano, Sonya Molodetskaya, Elizabeth Fullerton and Komal Shah; and striking black dresses on Karen Caldwell, Azadeh Riaz, Stephanie Southerland, Stephanie Ejabat, and SF Ballet's Principal Dancer Mathilde Froustey.
Supporters of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Symphony recently gathered together for a joint membership party for all four young professionals organizations. Membership in one of the arts groups was required in order to gain access to the event at the Julia Morgan Ballroom. William Hill Estate Winery and La Marca Prosecco provided complimentary beverages. DJ beats filled the ballroom as patrons feasted on a generous spread provided by Credo. The festive event was thrown by Event Chairs Vadim Nebuchin (ArtPoint), S B Hadley Wilson (BRAVO! CLUB), Wilson Yan (ENCORE!), Anjelika Koulebakina and Valerie Bantner Peo (Symphonix), as well as Presidents Barclay Rogers, Rebecca Miller, Jane Burkhard, and Julie Yarbrough. Guests were also able to purchase tickets to the 2013 San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Opera, and San Francisco Symphony Opening Night Galas. It's going to be an exciting cultural season!
ArtPoint, a group of Young Professionals that supports the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, brought over 600 partygoers to the Legion of Honor for Riviera Regatta, a Bastille Day Gala and Fundraiser. Guests enjoyed a lively evening of exhibition tours, delicious French-inspired fare and specialty drinks, live music by The Glasses, remarkable acrobatic feats performed by Circus Center San Francisco, and dance music by DJ Marija Dunn. The party's French Riviera-theme took its cue from the evening's featured exhibition: Impressionists on the Water.
