George Lucas was recently honored by the San Francisco Museum of Art’s Modern Art Council with the museum’s 14th annual Bay Area Treasure Award, an annual lifetime-achievement award recognizing Bay Areaâ€“based artists and cultural leaders who continually redefine the field of visual art.
This year SFMOMA’s Modern Art Council is honoring legendary filmmaker George Lucas with its Bay Area Treasure Award. The award is given annually to recognize local creative leaders who have redefined the field of visual art.
Giorgio Armani recently held a cocktail party at their Post Street store in honor of the 2012 Modern Ball Committee. On hand were Modern Ball Chair Dolly Chammas and several SFMOMA trustees and supporters.
Roth Martin and Steven Volpe, owners of Hedge, the beautiful gallery on Gold Street which specializes in 20th and 21st century pieces, recently held a kick off party to honor the Host Committee for SF20.
