The San Francisco Opera Guild recently hosted the opening night of the Opera’s 92nd Season with the theme of “Passione,” co-chaired by Teresa Medearis and Cynthia Schreuder, with honorary chairs Cynthia Fry Gunn and Dede Wilsey, with Opera Guild president Karen Kubin.
The debut of FOG Design + Art at the Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason demonstrated that San Francisco, despite its size, is a great art city.
Founded by event designer Stanlee Gatti, interior designer Douglas Durkin, and the late Elaine McKeon, the four-day show celebrating 20th and 21st century “design in all its forms” featured prominent dealers from around the country. They exhibiting progressive design and art that set an entirely new standard for the Bay Area, with over 4,000 visitors attending.
This year it wasn’t just the woman who looked gorgeous at the Opera Gala, the men dazzled too! Paula Carano and Troy Griepp were named to the top of Nob Hill Gazette’s “Best Dressed List 2013.” The annual reader’s poll, now in its 10th year, has named Angelique Griepp (Mrs. Troy Griepp won in 2011), Vanessa Getty, Marissa Mayer, Lisa Grotts, Denise Hale, Pamela Joyner, Tatiana Sorokko, Clara Shayevich, Trevor Traina, Danielle Steel, Dede Wilsey, Patrick Barber, Zach Bogue, Alex Mehran and other familiar faces to its Best Dressed Hall of Fame list.
This year’s Runners Up were Charlot Malin, Deepa Pakianathan, Ken Fulk and Jeffrey Hayes.
