It didn’t take a half-naked Beyonce blazing before a thousand camera flashes, Rihanna blowing minds in a massive Liberace cape, nor millions of dollars of fundraising dollars and months of hype to make it the most important fashion exhibit of the decade.
It just took beautifully crafted clothes from a master of his craft: Azzedine Alaïa.
As you can see by Glenn Belverio’s wonderful report from The Galleria Borghese in Rome, “Couture/Sculpture: Azzedine Alaïa in the History of Fashion,” presents Alaïa as an artist whose approach to clothing places him among the best of the Western sculptural tradition.
The exhibit runs through October, but if you can’t make it to Rome, you won’t want to miss these stunning images taken at the museum by Glenn Belverio at ashadedviewonfashion.com[button color=”white” size=”big” alignment=”center” rel=”follow” openin=”newwindow” url=”http://ashadedviewonfashion.com/blog/couturesculpture-azzedine-alaia-history-fashion-galleria-borghese-during-altaroma-july-2015″]See More[/button]
