The Herbst Theater and Green Room in San Francisco hosted REAF’s “Help is On The Way XXII: On the Red Carpet” event on Sunday, August 21, 2016. The Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation’s primary goal has always been to see the world without AIDS, but REAF recently began to expand its mission to offer support to disenfranchised and homeless youth.
Benefiting Meals on Wheels of San Francisco and AIDS Legal Referral Panel, the Gala and after-party event was attended by many notables including Gala co-chairs Sophie Azouaou, Dr. Albert L. Chow, and Eileen Blum-Bourgade, former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, Jr., Meals-on-Wheels Executive Director Ashley McCumber, and one of REAF’s “angel” philanthropists, Richard Blum.
Showcasing many “American Idol” alums and Broadway performers, the concert was directed by David Galligan and musically directed by “American Idol’s” Michael Orland. Guests then enjoyed a three-course dinner, during which a few members of the Broadway touring cast of “Beautiful” entertained.
A miniature fashion show preceded dinner, featuring Jewelry by 21HM Boutique and four gowns designed by Anna Cecilia Ortega. The after party, with a “Club REAF” theme, featured DJs GoBANG.
