Ricky Serbin has alerted us to some really exciting “new” Haute Couture pieces available at his San Francisco-based store this month, including this classic coat designed by the legendary Cristobal Balenciaga for his 1958-1959 collection.
This is truly the quintessential Balenciaga coat, with the beautiful, precise sleeve and collar detail that made Balenciaga one of the world’s greatest designers ever. It’s a piece that really belongs in a museum, but I suppose it would be okay if you wore it just once before donating it to the de Young!
Another wonderful offering at Ricky’s Exceptional Treasures is this delectable floral dress and jacket designed by Marc Bohan for Christian Dior’s Spring 1966 Haute Couture collection. Another museum-worthy piece — so try not to tear it as you twirl the night away in a dream of chiffon flowers and ruffled ’60s romanticism!
Bidding for the Balenciaga starts at $1,799 and the Dior at $999.
