Saks Fifth Avenue and The League to Save Lake Tahoe recently hosted the 40th Anniversary Fashion show with Oscar de la Renta.
The tradition began in 1969 when Bill Blass presented his collections to a group of close friends on the beach. This year’s event had an attendance of 650, which is full capacity for the stunning venue offered by host and co-chair Tamara Fritz, who co-chaired with Mrs. Adolphus Andrews, Jr., and Ms. Barbara Brown.
Oscar de la Renta staged the showing of his beautiful 2010 resort collection following a seated luncheon provided by Diana Dollar Knowles. Just to give you some idea of how devoted people are to this event— Diana Dollar Knowles and Mrs. Andrews actually attended the very first Tahoe show in August 1969!
Cocktails were hosted by Catherine Macfee Interior Design, Rubicon Collection, with cocktails courtesy of Grey Goose Vodka. Drew Altizer photographed the event, and also made a video (which you can see here.)
Charles and Ann Johnson donated some major items for the Live Auction: use of their estate, Carolands, for cocktails, private tour, and a 3-course dinner catered by Kevin Weir and Associates; and four VIP front-row seats to a Giants game.
Other live auction and raffle items included offerings from Oscar de la Renta, Saks Fifth Avenue, Boucheron, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Ritz-Carlton, Verdura, Gump’s, Hermes, Timilick Tahoe, Tom Livermore, Jack Johannsen, Alice and Bill Russell-Shapiro, Carole and Robert McNeil, Castel Nuvo d’ Aiassa and Annette Aiassa.
