Nordstrom Show a Hit

SFluxe had a great time last week at Nordstrom’s Fall 2006 Designer Preview show. While the clothing shown on the runway lacked the theatricality that really makes a fashion show pop, the overall production was fabulous and the audience seemed to have a good time (afterall, the show was meant for serious shoppers, not your average runway gawker.) Biggest applause of the evening came for Ralph Lauren‘s velvets and cashmeres in olive green and brown.

Best of all, 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales went to Raphael House.

A preview of Drew Altizer’s photos from the event are below (hundreds more are available at drewaltizer.com).

Claudia Castillo Ross (l.) chaired the event, with Kimberly Bakker (r.) and Ann Ferrell Milham (not shown) as co-chair. Raphael House is a charity that both women have been devoted to for years, and have done an amazing job at bringing support to.

These guys seemed to be having fun, and took menswear beyond the usual blazer and button down shirt combo (which most men in attendance wore.)

Kimberly Bakker, shown below, with the evening’s most adorable accessory.

Probably the best dressed woman was Tina Spangler. We love the casual chic of her suit, and the simple way she styled her hair, which really draws the eye to her striking features and bone structure. A long, lean, athletic blonde with an innate sense of proportion and style, she’s like San Francisco’s Uma Thurman.

Finally, all eyes were on Karen Caldwell who wore the goldest dress of the West. Not sure who the designer is, but she wore it well.
