Meet Elaine Kim and Kendall Conrad

Elaine Kim, Fall 2009

We are always amazed by the wide range of fashion options we have in San Francisco. Those with an eye for the newest and the best can always find it here. But even when a favored designer isn’t available at a local store, we can rely on Keylee Sanders of Style Studio to make their collections available in private showings.

One such opportunity will occur on October 7, 2009. Derek Besenfelder of Image Three and Keylee Sanders of Style Studio are hosting two exquisite Los Angeles designers, Elaine Kim and Kendall Conrad, in a special showing at the St. Regis – and readers of San Francisco Luxury Living are invited! A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Nick Traina Foundation. (Go to http://sfluxe.net/2009/10/02/style-showcase-to-benefit-nick-traina-foundation/ for details)

This special “Style Showcase” will be Elaine’s very first time showing in San Francisco. In 1992, she established herself as a fashion industry innovator with the global success of her iconic contemporary women’s wear brand, Product, a favorite among celebrities including Madonna, Cameron Diaz, Sofia Coppola and Kate Moss.

Today, the eponymous Elaine Kim line is available thru exclusive boutiques, the designer’s new eco-designed atelier located on trendy West 3rd Street in Los Angeles, and elainekim.com.

The Elaine Kim collection is serving the urbane, artistic, and style-conscious woman who is looking for something unique that expresses her sense of discovery and individuality. The sensual, strong silhouettes are edgy yet clean easy to wear but sophisticated.

Sculptural shapes and asymmetrical cuts are paired with the most beautiful, luxurious and eco-friendly fabrics such as cupro-cotton, cashmere, washed leather and delicate silk. The brand has been featured in WWD, InStyle, Lucky, Los Angeles Magazine, JC Report and The Wall Street Journal, among many others.

Kendall Conrad is a fifth generation Californian with a strong, signature style. Greatly influenced by her artistic childhood, and her world travels as a former model, she infuses her designs with a sophisticated elegance that is classic yet modern.

Kendall creates leather and exotic skin handbags and accessories that have enormous chic and considerable range. From pocketbooks to large carryalls, the collections offer carefully edited styles that reflect Kendall’s own pared down, yet luxurious aesthetic. Each bag is hand cut, numbered, and produced in limited edition by local craftsmen to maintain quality standards.

This attention to detail, combined with Kendall’s unique vision, translate into a collection of leather bags that speak to a new generation of independent minded women, who believe that looking good is not about looking like everyone else. Clients like Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Anniston, Rene Russo, and Gisele Bundchen, know to expect bags that age beautifully, and will not tire with passing trends.

We hope you can attend the event on October 7th! It benefits the Nick Traina Foundation. Guests will have the opportunity to preview the clothing and accessories, which are not available anywhere else in San Francisco, but also to meet the designers themselves!
