The 10th annual Light in the Grove fundraising gala is on November 30. Completely unique and always a sell-out, it is attended by 700 guests and was voted best LGBT fundraiser in the Bay Area. On the eve of World AIDS Day, the National AIDS Memorial is artistically-illuminated with light displays. Guests experience a candlelight reflection at the Circle of Friends and wander reflectively through the illuminated Redwood Grove to a warmly-lit tent where they enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a buffet dinner with musical and choreographed performances.
This year’s Lifetime of Commitment honoree is Mario Diaz, (former) Vice President, Community Relations, Wells Fargo Bank. Since 1989, Mario has held various positions within the Wells Fargo Foundation, including managing the contributions programs, philanthropy efforts, and volunteerism for the Greater San Francisco Region and beyond. His unwavering commitment, compassion, and generosity has resulted in myriad philanthropic partnerships with organizations and communities throughout the years, having an immeasurable impact on countless lives.
