In support of the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, Sloan Barnett, Carol Bonnie, Brit Morin and Maggie Rizer Mehran recently hosted an evening of shopping at the new Jimmy Choo boutique in Union Square (166 Geary Street), with part of the proceeds going to the medical center.
It was also an occasion for Jimmy Choo to unveil the new capsule collection created in collaboration with contemporary artist Rob Pruitt.
Pruitt, with his iconoclastic humour and visual exuberance, emerged from the New York art scene in the late 1980s. From glittering panda bear paintings to large scale degrade canvases with a scribble of human expression, to a silvered Andy Warhol monument on public view, Pruitt is known for producing playful and profound art work.
Referencing Pruitt’s art influences, the collection has a whimsical feel, incorporating some of his recurring artistic themes. Each product is finished with a wonderful attention to detail, including playful linings, exclusive materials and hand-finished soles.
