Jeffrey Alan Marks Charms SF WIth New Book

After admiring every page of interior designer Jeffrey Alan Marks’ new book, “The Meaning of Home,” which marks his 20th year in business, it was a delight to meet him recently at a launch party for the book in San Francisco.
Held at Cavalier, Jay Jeffers and Michael Purdy’s amazing shop of chic collectibles for the home, the event was co-hosted by three friends of Marks in San Francisco — Vanessa Getty, Alison Pincus, and Brooke Wyard.

Brooke Wyard is not only a longtime client of Marks, but her Pacific Heights highrise apartment is gorgeously photographed by David Matheson for the book. And how I love that apartment! Located in one of my favorite buildings, it has 360-views of the City, providing an unobstructed sight of the Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alta Plaza Park.

It’s one of over a dozen of Marks projects lavishly featured in the book — and probably my favorite, although I do love the home he did in London’s South Kensington, which took inspiration from a pair of pink crocodile Christian Dior stilettos. But then there’s also a home he designed in Austin, Texas, that I adore. And of course his own home in Santa Monica Canyon is divine.
Oh, let’s face it, I like them all!
