San Francisco shop girls will be busy this month as the city’s chicest suddenly realize in a panic they’ve not a thing to wear. The cause for concern? Two of the biggest fashion events we’ve seen in months will occur just weeks apart!
First, Alexander McQueen will show up at the Academy of Art University’s undergraduate fashion show, May 24th, where he will be honored for his achievements as one of the leading “Men of Fashion” (will he be on the same flight as Princess Di’s brother?). Then, on June 15th, Donna Karan will be in town as Nordstrom’s guest of honor at a huge fashion show at the de Young — a first for the museum. Proceeds from her show will benefit the “Step Up Women’s Network”.
With Donna’s connections to San Francisco (Rodney Yee, Roxanne Klein and Adina Niemerow, for instance) we are surprised she’s not here more often; and Alexander– has he ever been here? Let’s show them a great time, San Francisco!

SFluxe has just been told by a reliable source that McQueen will be in San Francisco from May 22 to May 25, and will then take a brief vacation north of the city. This is his second visit to the Bay Area.
