Here are our fifteen favorite looks from this year’s Mid Winter Gala.
Our favorite look of the evening was Lindsay Bolton in a dress by Reem Acra. “I especially loved it as she designed my wedding gown as well,” Lindsay tells us. It’s a stunning dress that’s both dramatic and understated at the same time.
William Getty and Vanessa Getty
Vanessa designed this dress herself, and had it made by Patty Orr. Her earrings are from Bulgari. As we’ve commented previously, we love that husband Bill often attends gala events like dressed in coordinating colors and fabrics as his wife.
Princess Fati Farmanfarmaian
Princess Fati’s dress was designed by her friend Stephanie Verriere of Verrieres & Sako, for the Winter 2008/2009 couture collection.
Sobia is wearing a sari by an Indian designer Satya Paul. “It’s from his pop art series,” Sobia tells us. “My mother-in-law bought it for me in India.”
Kathryn Lasater in Carolina Herrera
Allison Speer in Dolce & Gabbana
Jenna Hunt in Gucci
The dress that Elizabeth Touw wore is from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2009 collection. “The clutch is Stella McCartney. Love those animals!” says Elizabeth. “The shoes (which you can’t see anyway) are YSL, and they made me quite taller!”
The fashion editor wore red Donna Karan, with Lang vintage diamond earrings
This Vera Wang dress was purchased on a trip to East Hampton last summer. Diana paired it with Judith Ripka jewelry.
The designer of Keylee Sanders’ dress is Rikke Gudnitz of Gudnitz Couture. “She is out of Denmark and her evening wear is not yet sold in the United States,” says Keylee, founder of Style Studio. “It was one of the most amazing pieces I have ever worn!”
Karen, a local stylist, wore a dress by Maje. “It’s a line created by Parisian designer Judith Milgrom,” she tells us. Her necklace and bracelet are by Amber Marie Bentley.
