De Grisogono Delights San Francisco’s Best Dressed

Mr. Fawaz Grousi, the debonair Geneva-based Founder and President of De Grisogono, recently hosted a private cocktail party at The Taj Campton Place Hotel to honor Dede Wilsey and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.

Guests included Katie and Todd Traina, Deborah Minor, Lonna Wais, Carole McNeil, Adria Bini, Meriwether McGettigan, Susan Dunlvey, Sobia Shaikh, and Monaz Mehta Grover, among others. If they weren’t already De Grisogono customers, there many amazing pieces on display to tempt them otherwise.

Mrs. Wilsey arrived looking quite regal — dressed formally not for the cocktail party but for the San Francisco Opera’s world premiere of Christopher Theofanidis’ “Heart of a Soldier”, which she attended afterward. Guests Lucy and Bill Hamilton were also Opera-bound.

But for those at the party not going to the Opera, the Opera came to the party: a highlight of the evening was the surprise appearance of Renee Fleming, who came with friend Maria Manetti Farrow. The legendary singer had just performed as Lucrezia Borgia the night before, and we must say she still retained the bewitching glamour of that character. What an absolutely stunning woman.

But the biggest stars of the evening — and just as glittering — were the magnificent De Grisgono jewels on display. One particular piece that seemed to capture everyone’s eye was the starfish bracelet which you can see Afsaneh Akhtari trying on in Carolyne Zinko’s article for the Chronicle.
Discretion prevents us from saying who bought what, but don’t be surprised if you see some of the City’s most beautifully dressed women wearing some stunning new statement pieces soon. If not for the Opera, then there’s always the Holidays, then the Ballet, and… well let’s face it, when can you not find a good time to wear De Grisogono?
