Marybeth La Motte
We at SFLuxe find ourselves constantly checking out RedCarpetSF.com for its fun coverage of events in the City that we may have missed. The videos are always slick and exciting, with a host (owner and producer, Marybeth La Motte) who is vivacious, chic and charming.
One of the truly remarkable aspects of Marybeth’s company is that, throughout 2008, she produced all of the videos on RedCarpetSF.com at no charge to the 11 philanthropic groups she covered.
Some of the organizations that benefited from her generosity include the California Academy of Sciences, The de Young Museum, Global Green, Raphael House, the San Francisco Opera Guild and the San Francisco Zoo.
We have heard through the grapevine that her company has to cut down on the number of free videos it produces, but we think that any business or nonprofit group would be doing themselves a great disservice if they did not have video coverage. So folks, when planning your next event, you should really consider including video promotion by MBL in your budget.
Video creates a tremendous amount of excitement at an event, but more importantly it carries the message of the event to a much larger audience afterward. In tough economic times, smart money goes to promotional efforts that work — and video definitely works at reaching a lot of people.
We applaud Marybeth’s commitment to create a socially responsible company, and look forward to seeing more MBL productions in the future!
