While San Francisco was seeing rain, a few notable San Franciscans were enjoying the warm weather of Dubai during the Cartier International Dubai Polo Challenge recently held at the Desert Palm Resort and Polo Club in Dubai.
The event (now in its 5th year) took place under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Every year, this elite event gathers together royalty, celebrities, VIPs from the Dubai social scene and fans of the ‘sport of kings’ to a spectacular performance by the world’s best polo players competing for the Maillet d’Or Cartier trophy.
After a week of competition against the Cartier, Qatar Airways and Julius Bar teams, the Desert Palm team has won the 5th edition of this international tournament, which perfectly reflects the passion, sophistication, elegance, and tradition of Cartier.
H.E. Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali, Minister of Health of the UAE along with Bernard Fornas, President & CEO of Cartier International and Louis Ferla, Managing Director of Cartier Middle East presented the winning teams with the Desert Palm and Cartier trophies.
