The chicest luncheon you’ll attend all year is going to take place on November 3rd, 2014 — it’s then that Carolina Herrera will be presenting her Spring 2015 collection at the de Young’s Wilsey Court, a fundraiser for the Fine Arts Museums sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue.
“The de Young is the perfect setting for her timeless and modern aesthetic,” says Dede Wilsey. “Her designs represent the ultimate expression of fashion as art.”
Saks Fifth Avenue is partnering with the Fine Arts Museums for their annual fashion show luncheon this year, with a theme of “The Art of Fashion.”
“I believe that fashion is art in movement, which is why it is an honor to show my collection at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco,” says Carolina Herrera. “I have always loved the city. Women there are not afraid to be elegant and feminine, which is often my inspiration when designing collections. I always meet warm and stylish people in San Francisco, who share the same energy and excitement about fashion and design that I do.”
Since 1996 Saks partnered with the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary on the annual fundraiser, but beginning in 2014 the store decided to expand on its philanthropic partnership each year by selecting a new leading arts organization in the community as the event’s beneficiary. Previous designers who have attended include Zac Posen, Donna Karan, Michael Kors and Giambattista Valli.
