Burberry Celebrates Plum Sykes in SF

Burberry recently celebrated the release of British author Plum Sykes’ new book, “Party Girls Die in Pearls,” at a charming daytime tea party in San Francisco, hosted by Vanessa Getty, Kathryn Lasater, Alexis Traina and Allison Speer.

The Vogue contributor’s new chick-lit murder mystery takes place at Oxford in the mid-1980s. Her first book since 2005’s “The Debutante Divorcee,” she recently said she wanted to write “something really, really fun to read, but that’s intelligent and witty. There’s a lot in this book that is romanticized, and it is quite nice to get a break from reality. It’s like ‘La La Land. All these things bring a little bit of joy to the world.”

The event at Burberry’s Post Street store was attended by Plum Sykes, Alison Pincus, Nola Weinstein, Tatum Getty, Shannon Getty, Alicia Engstrom, Meredith Melling, Kathryn Retzer, Sobia Shaikh, Allison Sonsini, Ann Waterman, Mindy Henderson, Ruzwana Bashir, Leslie Podell, Farah Makras, Sonya Molodetskaya, Nika Robani Shirani, and Laurie Hanna.

Guests shopped from Burberry’s Spring/Summer collection, which included the brands new DK88 bag collection, first introduced on the runway as part of London Fashion Week earlier this year.
