I’m wishing for an especially cold winter after looking at the new Black Fleece collection that Thom Browne designed for Brooks Brothers — it will provide a great opportunity to wear one of the luxurious new capes or sharply cut woolen suits.
The designer showed his collection at the Post Street store recently, for a party that Town and Country magazine and Brooks Brothers hosted in honor of the Junior Committee of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. An absolutely charming man, with a vision for mens and womens clothing that is the absolute height of refinement.

Trevor Traina, as an Honorary Chair of the Fine Arts Museums, dropped by and immediately hit it off with the designer, whose more experimental namesake collection is also sold locally at Barneys. Wouldn’t Traina be absolutely smashing in one of the new Black Fleece suits, such as worn by Arthur Wayne (with Kelly Thomas, below)?
Tailored grey wool is just so chic right now (worn recently by Madonna and Angelina Jolie), and this new Brooks Brothers collection is really one of the best places to get it.
Below, more of Drew Altizer’s photos from the private Brooks Brothers party.
