Philanthropist Bita Daryabari, well known to readers of SFLuxe, has recently declared, in response to the devastating earthquake in Iran on August 11, 2012, that she will match each dollar that comes in for her fundraising efforts for the disaster relief.

Here is her request:

“Dear friends and family of Pars Equality Center (PEC),

As you know two devastating earthquakes struck Iran last week killing hundreds, destroying homes, and disrupting communities. Over 50,000 people have been moved to emergency camps. In these devastating conditions, with all we have to be thankful and grateful for, it is easily incumbent upon us to come together and help.

Right now, a small amount of money can go a long way.

Relief International (RI) is our chosen partner in this endeavor. As you know, RI is an excellent organization, one of the few who has had a trusted presence in Iran, and who recently was granted one of the few Treasury Department OFAC licenses (#IA-2012-296528-1) allowing them to provide emergency tents and supplies, sheltering survivors from night chills.

To get your tax deductible donation into a larger pool for RI to lumpsum use, please visit our website donation page and make your tax deductible donation in any amount you feel comfortable, please remember to designate your donation for “Iran Earthquake”.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for your continued support of the Pars Equality Center (PEC).
