Nearly 10 years after opening in San Francisco’s Union Square, Barneys New York is to get a major overhaul.
Starting in July, the store at 77 O’Farrell will undergo a multi-year expansion and renovation, which will not only include the addition of a separate men’s store, but — and this is our favorite news — the addition of Fred’s restaurant on the 6th floor!
The project, which is designed by Barneys in-house team, will involve the addition of a 19,000 square foot, two-level men’s store. Accessories will be held at street level, while a lower level will comprise ready-to-wear and shoes, with an emphasis on pieces by Balmain, Lanvin, Dries Van Noten, Thom Browne and Valentino.

When completed in 2016 the fifth floor of Barneys will hold women’s shoes and accessories. And in 2017… Fred’s! We can’t wait!
