I was delighted to attend ArtPoint’s recent annual gala, their Summer Cocktail Soirée, for an evening of “Mad Men” at the De Young Museum.
ArtPoint is a group of young professionals that supports the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. The event celebrated the opening of Modernism from the National Gallery of Art: The Robert and Jane Meyerhoff Collection with around 700 guests attendance, dressed in a variety of 1960s attire, sipping period cocktails and enjoying mid-century appetizers.
Early VIP guests were serenaded by contemporary violinist Gabi Holzwarth and treated to guided tours of the exhibition an outstanding compilation of post-war American art. The Roger Glenn Jazz Combo, featuring Bay Area legend Roger Glenn on vibraphone, and dance music by DJ Kirill, provided further entertainment throughout the evening.
Art lovers always know how to party, and thanks to the spirited Host Committee: Cheney Beshara, Betsabe Botaitis, Liana Burtsava, Justin Fichelson, Conrad Grodd, Ashley Huck, Simona and Scott Irwin, Anjelika Koulebakina, Meredith Leach, Jon Quick, Josh Rasmussen, Stephanie and Dan Roncadin, Mandy Salzman, Patrice and Michael Wilbur, the Summer Cocktail Soirée provide a lively evening I happily joined.
